Values, Beliefs and Relationships Education at Harnham Infant School:
At Harnham Infant School we believe that PSHE and RE should provide children with real life contexts for learning that are delivered in an inspiring and practical way. Our bespoke, high quality PSHE and RE curriculum which we call, ‘Values, Beliefs and Relationships’ allows children to ‘enjoy, explore and learn’ whilst meeting all the statutory requirements for PSHE, RSE and RE.
At HIS, our children ask and discuss ‘Big Questions’, learn to respect themselves and each other’s opinions and beliefs. Children are given the opportunities to think creatively and to see our school values and British Values in action. Our ‘No Outsiders’ approach supports the children in learning about diversity and is designed to celebrate our differences. In RE we are proud to follow the Wiltshire Agreed Syllabus but parents retain the legal right to withdraw their child from these lessons.
