Year 2 to Year 3

The majority of our pupils transfer to Harnham Junior School for Year 3, though there are a small number who may choose an alternative setting for Key Stage Two. We are committed to ensuring that every child has a smooth transition to their next setting.

Throughout the summer term, the children have multiple opportunities to visit the junior school for short periods of time before attending for Bump Up Day in July. In addition, we invite Key Stage Two staff to come and see the children in our familiar setting and begin to get to know them. We offer additional tours and ask members of junior staff to come and see the Year 2 children in their show performance. The teachers of both schools have meetings to handover information related to the children, as well as the two school SENDCos and the Senior Leadership Teams.
